The European And International Programs Office At The Training Event For School Directors 
Of The Directorate Of Secondary Education Of Peiraias

The initiatives, actions, activities and synergies that have been implemented so far and those that are scheduled for school year 2024-25 in the framework of the Internationalization Strategy of the Directorate of Secondary Education of Peiraias were presented by its three officers, Dr Maria Karyotaki, Educational Advisor for Economics at the Directorate, Dr Eleni Tsourapa, Greek Language teacher and former programs specialist at the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation and Ms Katerina Christodoulou, English Language teacher, Erasmus+ academic and organizational coordinator at Ralleio Lykeio, UNESCO Focal Point for the Directorate, UNESCO Individual Expert in ICH & school education.

Regarding the activities scheduled by the Office so far for this year, a new application for Accreditation as Erasmus+ National Consortium Coordinator with local schools as members will be submitted. In addition, there will be closer cooperation with:

• STEAME Erasmus Academy, as associate partner, to ensure the training of more teachers,
• Piraeus Maker Space to enhance synergies within the framework of Erasmus+ and UNESCO ASPnet projects,
• the National UNESCO ASPnet Coordination at the Ministry of Education to promote the membership of more local schools,
• the Directorates responsible for UNESCO projects at the Ministry of Culture to promote international projects on Tangible & Intangible Cultural Heritage,
• the University of Piraeus in the framework of Jean Monnet project MOTIVATE.

The training event was organized by the Head of the Directorate of Secondary Education of Peiraias Dr Dionysios Anastasopoulos on 19 and 20 September 2024.
